Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking an Automotive Hardware Design Engineer in Palo Alto (onsite) with an emphasis on developing ECUs for next-generation EV platforms. The role offers strong career progression from hardware design to technical leadership in the automotive electronics domain.

You will contribute to cross-functional teams, lead root-cause investigations, and drive design improvements across the product lifecycle, ensuring reliability and performance of high-speed interfaces and power systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 7 years of hardware design and development experience, ideally in Automotive.
• Strong foundation in analog and digital circuit design principles.
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium, Cadence, or OrCAD).
• Solid understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal management.
• Hands-on experience with networking and communication protocols (Ethernet, PCIe, MIPI, GMSL).
• Hands-on experience with high-speed design validation and circuit debugging.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing support for deployed hardware systems, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Identify opportunities for design enhancements and implement changes to improve efficiency, scalability, and manufacturability.
• Lead investigations into hardware failures, applying analytical techniques to identify and resolve root causes.
• Develop and execute test plans to validate hardware functionality, performance, and compliance with industry standards.
• Work closely with software, firmware, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and product success.
