Job summary

General Motors in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to lead in-house development of GM electronics design. You will design, develop and review electrical controllers for the next generation SDV architecture, building strong partnerships with internal and external customers.

The role focuses on in-vehicle electronics with cutting-edge tech such as high-speed interfaces, Ethernet, PCIe, and RF layouts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years of PCB layout design experience.
• Experience with digital/analog HW interfaces including schematic creation and PCB layout, simulation, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Create, lead and verify the layout design for PCBs/ICs to meet specifications.
• Perform design rule checks (DRC) and design for manufacturability (DFM) checks.
• Collaborate with circuit, system, and packaging teams to optimize layout for performance, power, area and manufacturability.
• Work with components, procurement and supply chain to select suitable PCBA components.
