Job summary

Blackwell-Miami-Inc in Miami is seeking an experienced EV technician with hands-on high-voltage expertise to diagnose and repair EV systems in commercial fleets.

You must own your hand tools, hold a valid driver's license, and follow HV safety practices. EV certification is a plus, and candidates with real EV experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on EV experience is required.
• HV safety knowledge and proper PPE use is essential.
• Ability to diagnose faults rather than guess and replace parts.

Responsibilities

• High-voltage system diagnosis and repair.
• Battery pack service, thermal management, charging system faults.
• EV drivetrain, regen braking, electrical diagnostics.
• A/C full system: diagnosis, leaks, compressors, evac and recharge.
• Brakes, suspension, steering, cooling.
• PM service and DOT inspections.
• Document findings clearly and concisely.

Job description

We need a tech who already knows EVs. High-voltage systems, battery packs, thermal management, EV diagnostics. This isn't a role we're training someone into — if you've got real hands‑on EV experience and you can find a fault instead of guessing at it, we want to talk to you.

WE KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DEALING WITH

Shops that say they do EV work and hand you brake jobs. No high-voltage training, no proper PPE, no insulated tools. Diagnostic time you never get paid for. Dealer-locked software you can't access. Getting treated like the guy who "does the weird cars."

THE WORK

Commercial electric fleet — Rivian EDVs, electric delivery vans, plus conventional light‑duty and box trucks in the mix.

• High-voltage system diagnosis and repair
• Battery pack service, thermal management, charging system faults
• EV drivetrain, regen braking, electrical diagnostics
• A/C — full system: diagnosis, leaks, compressors, evac and recharge. This is Miami.
• Brakes, suspension, steering, cooling
• PM service and DOT inspections
• Write down what you found. No essays.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Hands‑on EV experience, required — Rivian, Tesla, Ford Lightning, transit EVs, any of it
• You understand high-voltage safety and you work like it
• You diagnose, you don't throw parts at it
• You show up
• Own hand tools, valid driver's license
• EV certification is great. So is real EV experience without the paper. We'll take either.

English or Spanish. Both work here.

Days, 6 days a week. Full-time, in person at our Miami shop.
