Job summary

Harbinger Motors in California seeks a seasoned Fastener Engineer to lead threaded fasteners and torque-controlled fastening across EV platforms. You will define standards, validate joints, and ensure safety-critical connections from suspension to battery packs.

You will collaborate with design, manufacturing and QA, overseeing material selection, coatings, and inline process monitoring, with travel up to 20% for supplier audits and plant support.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience or Bachelor's with 7+ years.
• Minimum 5 years in fastener engineering or assembly joining with deep knowledge of joint validation and bolt testing.
• Experience with DC nutrunners, multi-spindle fixtures, and structural riveting tools; MES integration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Author and maintain fastener standards; specify materials and mechanical properties for bolts, nuts, and shims.
• Develop torque strategies; test joints; review production torque data.
• Oversee fastening installation and monitoring; support quality audit and data collection.
• Lead joint validation testing (torque-to-failure, pull-out) and define in-process monitoring criteria.
• Evaluate coating systems for corrosion resistance and clamp load delivery.
