Job summary

Harbinger Motors seeks a Fastener Engineer to own threaded fasteners, joining methods, and torque-controlled systems across EV platforms. You will define standards, oversee material selection, coating specs, and validate DC nutrunner programs and inline monitoring.

Collaborating with design, manufacturing and quality teams, you will lead joint validation testing, review torque data, and optimize coatings like Geomet or Zinc-Nickel to ensure clamp load and reliability across critical joints from

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience or a Bachelor's with 7+ years.
• 5+ years fastening engineering or assembly joining experience.
• Experience with DC nutrunners and fixtures.
• Knowledge of ISO 261/262 and SAE J429 fastener specs.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically.

Responsibilities

• Author and maintain fastener standards, sizing spreadsheet, and supplier quality requirements.
• Define tightening strategies and validate torque-plus-angle.
• Oversee installation and monitoring of structural fasteners and support quality audits.
• Lead joint validation testing and establish in-process torque/angle monitoring.
• Evaluate coating systems (Geomet, Zinc-Nickel) for corrosion resistance and clamp load.
