Job summary

Magna International is seeking a Senior Engineer - Fasteners to lead engineering activities for vehicle body structures, mechanical joints, and fastening systems from prototype through production. You will collaborate with OEM customers, design and release engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to deliver robust, cost-effective, and reliable solutions.

The role requires extensive experience in fastening applications, GD&T, CAD/PLM tools, and DFMEA, with a focus on

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline.
10+ years automotive/product development experience including fasteners and joining systems.
Experience with complete vehicle development, design release, validation, prototype and production builds.

Responsibilities

Lead development of fasteners, structural connections, and joining applications against performance, cost, weight, quality, and timing targets.
Develop and review design proposals using set-based engineering, tolerance stack-up, GD&T, and DFMEA principles.
Create, review, and release CAD models, drawings, specifications, CAE studies, and product data through PLM processes.
Develop new fastening solutions when existing components do not meet requirements.
Collaborate with OEMs, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and launch readiness.
