Job summary

Magna Steyr is seeking a Senior Engineer - Fasteners in Troy, MI to lead engineering activities for fasteners, joints, and joining systems across complete vehicle programs. You will guide architecture, design, validation, and production readiness while coordinating with OEMs, suppliers, and global teams.

The role requires extensive automotive experience, proficiency with CAD/PLM tools, and a strong grasp of torque-tension, GD&T, and DFMEA/DVP&R processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in automotive product development with fasteners and joining systems.
• Experience with complete vehicle development, design release, validation, and production builds.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of fasteners, joints, and joining systems for vehicle programs.
• Create, review, and release CAD models, drawings, specifications, and PLM data.
• Manage DFMEA and DVP&R activities addressing risks and verification plans.
• Collaborate with OEM customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
