Job summary

AlphaHire is seeking a remote, project-based consultant to build TCO and lifecycle cost models for fleet electrification and to compare multiple cost scenarios across vehicles, energy, and maintenance. The role involves incorporating incentives, demand charges, and residual-value assumptions into finance-ready analyses.

You will create tables, charts, and briefs for senior leaders, stress-test key assumptions, and support proposals with evidence-based narratives. Remote-first engagement expected.

Qualifications

• Experience building TCO, lifecycle cost, or capital and operating cost models for fleet or energy projects.
• Strong knowledge of EV energy costs, demand charges, incentives, and vehicle residual-value assumptions.
• Advanced financial modelling skills with ability to clearly explain methods and results in writing.
• Comfort as a 1099 project-based consultant in a remote-first environment with occasional client meetings.
• Public-sector fleet, transit, or EV charging cost-study experience preferred.
• Familiarity with NEVI, CFI, VW, IRA, or state clean-fleet incentives stacking in financial models preferred.
• Experience presenting cost findings to finance directors, city managers, or elected boards preferred.

• Compare vehicle, charger, electrical-upgrade, energy, maintenance, and residual-value cost scenarios.
• Incorporate utility rates, demand charges, incentives, and tax credits into agency-ready financial analyses.
• Create clear tables, charts, and decision briefs for finance and operations leaders.
• Stress-test assumptions such as mileage, energy prices, and incentive timing, and document sensitivity ranges.
• Support proposal cost narratives and study appendices when authorized.
• Contribute qualifications and past-performance narratives to proposals when authorized.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience building TCO, lifecycle cost, or capital and operating cost models for fleet or energy projects.
• Working knowledge of EV energy costs, demand charges, incentives, and vehicle residual-value assumptions.
• Strong Excel or comparable financial-modeling skills, with the ability to clearly explain methods and results in writing.
