Job summary

Alten Technology USA is seeking a Validation Engineer for the Charging Systems group to validate charger interoperability and drive test plans across supplier DC charging systems. You will work with Powertrain, Firmware, and Validation teams to ensure conformance to CCS, ISO 15118, and other standards.

The role requires 3–5 years in EV charging, hands-on testing tools, and ability to travel up to 50% to field sites.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in EV charging systems or related field.
• Strong knowledge of DC fast charging technologies and global standards (SAE J1772, SAE J3400, DIN 70121, ISO 15118, IEC 61851).
• Experience with CAN, PLC, and serial interfaces using debugging tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute verification and validation testing of charger interoperability across supplier DC charging systems.
• Develop test cases derived from interoperability and conformance standards (CCS, ISO 15118) with Powertrain, Firmware, and Validation teams.
• Create structured test plans and maintain comprehensive test suites with clear documentation.
• Configure, operate, and troubleshoot test equipment (Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, power supplies, electronic loads).
• Manage test infrastructure, including hardware configurations and test documentation.
• Investigate field issues using CAN, Ethernet logs; perform root-cause analysis and validate fixes.
• Support integration, commissioning, and supplier validation activities, with up to 50% travel to field sites.
