Job summary

Highland Electric Fleets is seeking a detail-oriented Field Support Technician to support go-live for new EV charging sites across the United States. You will conduct vehicle inspections, coordinate on-site activities with the Commissioning Engineer, and maintain meticulous documentation.

The role requires regular travel and residency within a reasonable distance of a major airport. You will gain hands-on experience with EV chargers and vehicles while prioritizing safety and customer service

Qualifications

• Exceptional attention to detail and a thorough approach to documentation.
• Strong time-management and willingness to travel.
• Proficiency with computers and standard software (documentation tools, spreadsheets, asset/project management platforms).
• Automotive Technology certification preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

• Represent the company at customer locations with professional conduct.
• Support the go-live process for new EV charging sites, coordinating on-site activities and flagging risks.
• Conduct new vehicle inspections, verifying readiness and documenting findings prior to activation.
• Assist technicians in asset inspections, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and on-site repairs as needed.
• Follow safety procedures to ensure compliance with standards.
• Maintain thorough, accurate documentation for commissioning activities and inspections.
• Support HV charger operations, including plug cycles and service needs during commissioning.
• Perform LV battery replacements and jump-steps as needed.
• Maintain tools and a clean, safe work environment.
• Develop customer service skills to ensure a positive go-live experience.
• Participate in training to develop technical and coordination expertise.
