Job summary

OWL Services, a nationwide service provider, seeks a Field Service Technician in Chicago, IL. The role focuses on servicing and installing electronic equipment including POS and EV charging stations, with travel required and on‑call rotations.

The candidate should have mechanical/troubleshooting skills, electrical experience preferred, and a willingness to work independently while prioritizing safety. Training and career growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills required.
• 1+ years’ electrical capacity experience preferred.
• Able to work independently and solve problems.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to protocols.
• Willingness to travel 30–40% overnight.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
• Experience with POS systems (Verifone/NCR) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, inspects, and repairs electro‑mechanical devices, including POS equipment and alarms.
• Manage EV charger testing requirements: torque, thermal imagery, insulation, and reports.
• Locate system performance issues and fix ground faults.
• Complete service requests and maintenance repairs promptly and professionally.
• Review work orders, manuals, and drawings to perform maintenance and service.
• Use testing devices and a variety of hand and power tools.
• May be assigned to other areas for new installations/upgrades.
• Other duties as required.
