Job summary

HappyGlobal Service is seeking a senior systems engineer to lead HV battery development and integration in Irvine, CA. You will translate vehicle requirements into battery-system targets across cell, mechanical, electrical, thermal, and BMS interfaces.

Lead cross-functional trade studies, define performance targets, and drive DFMEA and validation planning. Collaboration with OEM teams is essential to ensure production-ready configurations and timely field issue resolution.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in EV batteries or high-voltage automotive systems.
• Strong ability to translate vehicle or OEM requirements into battery-system requirements and targets.
• Experience with DFMEA, system-level design reviews, and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the system-level technical lead for high-voltage battery development and integration.
• Translate requirements into battery-system and subsystem requirements across cell, mechanical, electrical, thermal, BMS interfaces, validation, and manufacturing.
• Own requirement decomposition, allocation, traceability, verification, and system-level change impact.
• Define and integrate battery performance targets including energy, power, voltage, current, charging, temperature, aging, and safety limits.
• Lead cross-functional architecture and technical trade studies across performance, safety, durability, packaging, cost, and manufacturability.
• Integrate inputs from multiple teams into a consistent system solution meeting customer requirements.
• Lead the technical interface with BMS and controls teams for limits, sensing, diagnostics, and protection thresholds.
• Lead system DFMEA, risk reviews, and system-level design reviews.
• Define verification methods and support DVP&R and validation planning.
• Analyze data to identify system limitations and root causes; drive corrective actions to closure.
• Ensure alignment between specifications, design releases, validation plans, and production configurations.
• Support vehicle launch, production ramp-up, and field issue resolution.
