Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) seeks an Engineer I or II to design high voltage battery systems for xEV programs. The role focuses on battery pack design, development, and release, coordinating with Hyundai Korea R&D and external suppliers.

Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally is required. The ideal candidate has a BS in a related engineering field and 1–2 years in xEV battery development, with CAD proficiency and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related field.
• 1–2 years in xEV battery systems or xEV component development in production-intent role.
• Ability to participate in cross-functional design reviews with internal and external teams.
• Basic knowledge of CAD systems (Catia, NX, Creo) and willingness to learn HATCI CAD processes.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications for materials and construction techniques.
• Experience with xEV components, high voltage battery systems, and electrification tech.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally; fluency in English or ability to attain quickly.

Responsibilities

• Execute projects to develop high voltage battery systems for xEVs.
• Design and develop battery pack systems and manage parts/systems with design release responsibilities.
• Follow HV battery development standards and document test results.
• Benchmark competitor EVs to drive internal targets and design direction.
• Present findings to Korean HQ and coordinate with production programs.
• Stay current with technology and industry trends; provide technical support for pre/post-production.
