Job summary

ASML in San Diego, CA is seeking a Plasma and Laser Physics Engineer to advance EUV light source performance. You will validate and optimize laser-plasma interactions, debris mitigation, and control systems while working with cross‑functional teams across product development and customer support.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a physics/engineering field with hands-on lab experience.
Minimum of 5 years of related experience in plasma, optics, or laser physics.

Responsibilities

Develop system-level expertise on EUV light source performance, including laser generation and amplification.
Apply models and experiments to analyze source performance across disciplines.
Design, execute, and document experiments to validate prototype hardware/software.
Develop test plans ensuring traceability of system requirements.
Collect, process, and analyze large datasets using MATLAB and Python.
Troubleshoot performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
Create technical documentation and communicate findings to stakeholders.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and leadership.
Support customer escalations via remote/on-site troubleshooting.
