Job summary

Bybit, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, invites qualified professionals to join its EU trading desk in Vienna, Austria. You will operate the MT5 platform, manage liquidity and risk, and coordinate with global teams to ensure seamless 24/7 trading operations for crypto derivatives.

We value finance/economics backgrounds, strong risk management, and fluency in English and German. The role may be based in Vienna, with exposure to international markets and a dynamic, regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Degreed in finance, economics or comparable qualification.
• Product knowledge and experience with financial instruments, especially derivatives and crypto-assets.
• Risk management knowledge.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in German and English.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced 24/7 regulated environment.
• Preferably based in Vienna, Austria (not mandatory).

Responsibilities

• Regular reporting to Head of Trading Desk and escalation to CRO when needed.
• Real-time risk monitoring during shifts.
• Monitor liquidity provider connectivity and perform failover/assess execution quality.
• Adjust exposures within pre-approved limits.
• Manual hedge execution within notional thresholds.
• Minor spread adjustments per internal policy.
• Handle first-level desk incidents escalations.
• Operate 24/7/365 Trading Desk with shift handovers.
• Coordinate with Trading Desk team.

Bybit X GmbH (Bybit X)

Bybit X GmbH (Bybit X) will soon offer derivatives (financial instruments under MiFID II) 24/7/365 via the Bybit EU Platform to clients. For the purpose of offering the respective trading services, Bybit X will inject these trades into the MT5 trading platform from MetaQuotes, using our own MT5 server, utilizing the Finprime liquidity bridge and an MT5 specific risk management system (Visual Edge from Gold-i), amongst other monitoring systems.

To ensure the 24/7/365 operation of the EU Trading Desk on a shift basis, the Traders will operate the MT5 trading platform, the MT5 liquidity bridge and are able to interpret the risk measures provided by the MT5 risk management software and, if needed, liaises with the Risk Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Regular reporting to the Head of Trading Desk and, if needed, escalation to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO)
• Real-time risk monitoring during shift
• Ongoing monitoring of the liquidity provider connectivity including failover initiation (if necessary) and performance as well as its execution quality
• Exposure adjustments within pre-approved limits
• Manual hedge execution in line with predefined notional thresholds
• Minor spread adjustments approval, aligned with the internal policy
• Handling of first-level escalations of all desk incidents
• Operation of the 24/7/365 Trading Desk, including shift handover
• Ongoing coordination with the Trading Desk team

Requirements:

• Preferably with a degree in finance, economics or a comparable qualification
• Product knowledge and experience with financial instruments, especially derivatives and crypto-assets
• Risk management knowledge
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced, regulated, 24/7/365 operational environment
• This position is preferably based in Austria, Vienna (but not mandatory)
