Job summary

Clean Air Task Force, Inc. is seeking a Senior Policy Manager to lead European decarbonisation policy across chemicals, steel and cement. You will translate technical data into clear policy narratives and engage with EU institutions, member states, industry and civil society.

The role requires strong policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams across Europe; full-time remote with preference for Brussels residents.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree or equivalent with at least eight years relevant work experience.
• Minimum three years working with EU institutions and the European legislative system.
• Knowledge of European climate policy and industrial decarbonisation.
• Experience communicating complex policy to external audiences.
• Proven ability to build relationships with policymakers, industry and civil society.

Responsibilities

• Policy Development & Analysis: develop practical policy positions across EU priorities.
• Policy Advocacy & Government Engagement: engage with EU institutions and national governments.
• Industrial Sector Expertise: apply policy knowledge to chemicals, steel, and cement.
• Technical-to-Policy Translation: translate technical issues into clear policy narratives.
• Relationship Building & Influence: build coalitions with stakeholders.
• Carbon Markets & Technology Policy: contribute to carbon management and EU ETS.
• Thought Leadership & Communications: briefings, public speaking, letters, and media.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: coordinate policy work across program teams.
