Orchestrade is seeking a Business Analyst to support growth in energy trading, risk, and operations solutions. You will engage with clients, analyze complex ETRM requirements, and translate them into functional specifications.

The role covers framework enhancement, testing, and collaboration with product, development, and QA teams to deliver scalable solutions across oil, gas, power, and metals markets.

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Energy Market, Computer Science, Financial Engineering or equivalent.
• 1-4 years of professional experience in Energy Market, ETRM or financial industry.
• Experience in Object-Oriented Programming; C#/C/C++ preferred.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Strong Business Analysis skills including data extraction, analysis and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

About the Position

Orchestrade is looking for a new member to join our Client Solution team with a focus on the Energy & Commodity Business.

The team continually extends our leading trading, risk, and operations solutions to cover new business cases and traded products & instruments in energy trading across the oil, gas, power, certificates, and metals markets. The team leverages its expertise on commodity and energy derivatives products across the full front-to-back chain: Support, maintenance, evolution, and implementation of the commodity and energy framework for our clients.

The role involves participating in business case studies as well as client implementation, writing functional and technical specifications, testing and validating developments. The BA team demonstrates a deep understanding of the key aspects of the business, along with a detailed knowledge of the underlying technical design concepts of the system, allowing for tight collaboration with the development team.

Job Summary:

The Business Analyst will support the growth of Orchestrade through research, development validation and direct interaction with clients.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Requirements Gathering & Solution Design: Analyze business requirements and understand complex ETRM application architecture. Design and draft scalable functional specifications that translate real-world energy trading problems into fast time-to-market solutions.
• ETRM Framework Enhancement: Maintain and configure the energy product framework. Test and validate transaction processing, physical/financial trade lifecycle workflows, risk/PnL calculations, database updates, and downstream system interfaces.
• Client Relationship & Operations Management: Serve as the primary functional point of contact. Build strong partnerships by deeply understanding clients' trading setups and daily operations. Manage their requests, address concerns, and provide system training.
• Issue Triage & Root Cause Analysis: Investigate complex issues raised by clients and conduct preliminary technical analyses. Identify root causes, prepare comprehensive development tickets, and bridge the gap between business users and developers to ensure accurate functional fixes.
• Cross-Functional Delivery: Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, and QA/Automation teams. Write precise technical/functional specs, identify risks, validate new developments through rigorous testing, and manage smooth, production-ready software deliveries.

Requirements:

• BS/MS degree in Energy Market, Computer Science, Financial Engineering or equivalent.
• 1-4 years of professional experience in the Energy Market, ETRM or financial industry.
• Experience in Object-Oriented Programming. C#/C/C++ is preferred, but knowledge of other languages will also be advantageous.
• Knowledge of application functionality and data management concepts.
• Excellent communication skills – both written and oral (English).
• Strong Business Analysis skills are required – including data extraction, analysis and logical problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated and can work collaboratively within a team.
• Should be eager to explore new concepts and willing to learn.

Physical Requirements:

• Stationary for periods of time at a desk with computer monitor(s).
• Common office environment

• 15%-20%.
