Job summary

Brooksource is seeking a smart Business Analyst for our Sustainability client in Houston, with 5–7 years in energy trading or risk management. You will be trained on two ETRM systems and a Risk Management system, acting as power user supporting front, mid and back-office users.

Our Sustainability client is looking for a smart, highly motivated, and intellectually curious Business Analyst with 5-7 years of energy trading or risk management experience to support our Renewable Energy business. You will be trained on, and become the power user for, 2 ETRM systems and a Risk Management system. You will support front, mid and back-office business users, make changes to the ETRM configurations and assist with reporting needs. As the power user you will work with technology team as the ETRM ecosystem expands and evolves. This is a great opportunity to expand your understanding of end-to-end renewable Power and Gas business including RINS and Renewable energy credits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, demonstrating advanced communication skills across all organizational levels. Will work day to day with Sr. Directors and their staff.
• Assist with Accounting in modeling complex power and gas transactions in the ETRM system
• Help produce accurate position and other commercial reports from ETRM and Deal capture system
• Provide top-level business and systems analysis to support organizational strategic vision.
• Contribute expertise in business processes, defining system/process scope and objectives relative to business plans, user requirements, process flows, business process mapping, and functional specifications.
• Document business requirements and formulate test plans in collaboration with QA and other partner groups before initiating business user testing.
• Collaborate with Technology and business teams to develop and execute deployment plans.
• Ensure the development of complex information systems or modifications to existing system logic to meet business objectives.
• Lead teams in reviewing progress, evaluating results for accuracy and efficiency, and ensuring alignment with business requirements.
• Assist with uploading forward curves and extracting electricity information from ETRM system

• Advanced technical knowledge and expertise in at least one of the following areas:
• Systems development, implementation, upgrades, and analysis.
