Job summary

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Data Center Power and Control Team in Farmingdale, NY. The role focuses on engineered-to-order projects, tailoring existing design platforms to meet customer requirements within cost constraints.

The ideal candidate will possess a BS in Mechanical Engineering, at least 1 year of mechanical engineering experience, and strong project management and communication skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 1+ year of mechanical engineering experience is required.
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication methods preferred.
• Strong project management and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Create manufacturing packages for custom-configured cabinet assemblies.
• Develop Bills of Material and ERP routings.
• Estimate engineering lead times for projects.
• Create 3D CAD assemblies from existing models and configure per customer needs.
• Design custom accessories per EIA-310 standards.
• Draft detailed part, weldment, and assembly drawings; process ECNs.
• Build complete product structures with routings in ERP.
• Collaborate with production to support project progress and issue resolution.
• Assist regulatory testing with UL and other agencies.
