Job summary

Matlen Silver is actively recruiting for an ETL Production Support Engineer Consultant to join our client's production support team in Charlotte, NC. You will provide frontline technical support for ETL/ELT processes, incident management, deployments, operational readiness, and production governance across the U.S.

This role operates in a hybrid model with 3 days onsite per week at the Uptown Charlotte office.

Qualifications

• Experience with ETL/ELT concepts and data integration platforms.
• Hands-on UNIX/Linux scripting and basic commands.
• Strong SQL, APIs, and cloud/on-prem data platforms (AWS/Azure/Snowflake, Oracle/Teradata/SQL Server).
• Experience with incident management and RCA.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and triage ETL issues and coordinate with support teams.
• Perform root cause analysis and report status to stakeholders.
• Identify monitoring and stability improvements for faster root-cause determination.
• Troubleshoot with advanced queries and scripting.
• Support releases, upgrades, and infrastructure changes with cross-team coordination.
• Restore services promptly and communicate progress to partners.

12 months with extension possible to 18 months

Job Description

Matlen Silver is actively recruiting for an ETL Production Support Engineer Consultant to work for our client's production support team to provide front line technical support to end users throughout the U.S. This includes responding to issues related to Problem/Incident Management, Release/Deployment, Operational Readiness, Application Monitoring, Production Governance related to issues. This role is a hybrid work model that requires 3 days onsite per week in the client's Uptown Charlotte office.

Responsibilities

• Provides monitoring and support for triaging ETL problems and coordinating with various support teams across the organization including activities related to application incident and problem management.
• Performs root cause analysis and communicates with the line of business and management the overall status and health of the application throughout the support process.
• Looks for areas of improvement in monitoring, application stability, and speed of determining root cause.
• Performs troubleshooting, analysis, research and resolution using advanced query and scripting skills.
• Work closely with Technology Infrastructure Teams, Development & Testing Teams in supporting Integrated / Independent releases, software/hardware upgrades, server upgrades.
• Performs real-time restoration and triaging of issues impacting technical services (application/infrastructure) to customers and partners in a timely manner while keeping partners advised of significant progress or challenges during the restoration period.

Required Experience

1. Informatica PowerCenter/Cloud Data Integration (CDI) Development knowledge:
   • Understanding ETL/ELT concepts and performance tuning
   • IDMC deployment and migration processes
   • Monitoring logs and platform health
   • Data warehouse concepts (Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server)
2. Unix/Linux knowledge (basic commands/file update(vi)/scripting)
3. Understanding of SQL databases, APIs, AWS/Azure/Snowflake, and on-prem systems.
4. Autosys Batch Job scheduling
5. Troubleshooting & Operational Support
   • Log analysis (DIS, Agent Core, Audit logs)
   • Incident triage and RCA
   • Job failure analysis and performance tuning
   • Coordination with DBA, Unix, Network, and Storage teams
6. Splunk/Dynatrace/Service Now knowledge is nice to have
