Job summary

Subaru of Indiana Automotive is seeking an Ethics & Compliance Investigation Specialist in the Legal & Compliance Department. You will conduct timely, thorough investigations into compliance and ethics concerns, document findings, and develop corrective actions.

You will perform root cause analysis using methods like 5 Whys, PDCA, and Kaizen; prepare concise reports for leadership; coordinate with Legal, HR, and plant floor teams; ensure confidentiality and neutrality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 4+ years of experience in compliance, investigations, ethics, human resources investigations, audit, risk management, legal support, regulatory matters, or a related field.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and best practices for internal compliance investigation programs
• Demonstrated experience conducting interviews, reviewing evidence, documenting facts, and preparing written summaries or reports.
• Demonstrated ability to apply policies, procedures, standards, laws, or regulations to fact patterns.
• Experience using structured problem-solving or root cause analysis methods

Responsibilities

• Conduct full-cycle compliance investigations of assigned reports, including intake review, evidence gathering, interviews, documentation, root cause analysis, and case closure.
• Develop practical recommendations for corrective actions and countermeasures to address root causes and reduce recurrence.
• Perform root cause analysis using methods such as 5 Whys, PDCA, Kaizen, process review, and contributing-factor analysis.
• Collaborate with Legal, HR, plant floor leadership, Finance, and other stakeholders to align on responsive actions.
• Monitor corrective actions to verify completion and escalate issues as needed.
• Prepare investigation summaries, trend information, and presentations for leadership review.
• Provide investigation-related guidance and training to associates and stakeholders.
• Work with stakeholders to foster a positive compliance culture and effective communication.
• Analyze data and case outcomes to identify recurring issues and opportunities for preventive action.
• Support spot audits and compliance monitoring initiatives as assigned.
• Conduct interviews and fact-finding with confidentiality, neutrality, and professionalism.
• Track case activity and evidence in the designated records system.
