Blitt & Gaines, P.C. is seeking a motivated Collector to join our Collections team in Vernon Hills, IL. You will represent the firm by handling past-due accounts, engaging with consumers and third parties, negotiating payment solutions, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in collections or customer-facing roles.
• Knowledge of FDCPA and debt collection laws.
• Familiarity with collections software and systems (e.g., CLS).
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• High school diploma required; degrees preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound calls in a fast-paced collections environment.
• Maintain and update assigned accounts within the collections system daily.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and settlements in accordance with company and client guidelines.
• Verify and confirm customer account details and banking information.
• Process secure payments and update payment methods as needed.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies on accounts.
• Communicate professionally with consumers, attorneys, and third-party representatives.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable federal and state laws (e.g., FDCPA) and client/firm compliance policies.
