Job summary

Whitefox Technologies in Minnesota, USA, is seeking a Customer Support Field Technician for ethanol systems. You will be the face of Whitefox at client sites, performing hands-on field execution, on-site technical support, commissioning, operations and maintenance, and training plant staff.

This role requires reading PIDs, performing DCS verifications, arranging commissioning packets, and ensuring safe, reliable operation.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or degree in a process, mechanical, instrumentation or chemical discipline from an accredited institution, or equivalent operating-plant experience.
• 3+ years in an operating industrial plant or field service.
• Ability to read and interpret PIDs, field layouts, commissioning packs and site information.
• Comfortable providing training to technical and non-technical audiences on plant process operations.
• Familiarity with ethanol production is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support commissioning planning by preparing, organizing, and maintaining commissioning packets for field readiness and safe execution.
• Read and interpret PIDs, field layouts, commissioning documentation, and site information to confirm field readiness.
• Perform DCS and instrument verifications, control-room checks, field confirmations, and start-up readiness checks.
• Lead on-site cartridge installation activities and train customers on installation steps and operating procedures.
• Maintain field records, safety documentation, and customer support master-file information.
• Travel up to 50% to plants; occasional weekends/nights as needed to support schedules.
