Trading Interview in Chicago seeks an ETF Trading Support Engineer to optimize trading logic and automate controls helping the ETF market-making desk and technology teams. You’ll develop tooling to improve efficiency and directly support trading decisions in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on work, data-driven improvements, and close collaboration with traders, operations, and development teams to implement robust strategies and monitoring.

Qualifications

• Experience with SQL/relational data and data analysis.
• Hands-on Python or other OO language for lightweight tooling.
• Exposure to automation technologies like Airflow or open-source tools.
• Strong problem solving, attention to detail, and curiosity.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Master the trading rules, configurations, and controls across ETF trading activity.
• Support product onboarding, trading eligibility, venue configuration, ETF/reference relationships, and market-data dependencies.
• Develop strategy enhancements, controls, and workflows with traders and stakeholders.
• Automate data-quality checks, configuration validation, and strategy health monitoring.
• Document strategy rules and configuration dependencies.
