Wolverine Trading in Chicago, IL is seeking an ETF Trading Support Engineer to join our trading desk and technology teams. The role focuses on configuring, analyzing, validating, and improving ETF trading logic across the lifecycle.

You will build practical tools to enhance team productivity and support real-time decision-making. The ideal candidate has strong SQL, Python, and data-analysis skills, exposure to automation tools like Airflow, and a curious, fast-moving mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience with SQL and relational data.
• Ability to analyze data and draw clear conclusions.
• Proficiency in Python or similar OO language for lightweight tooling.
• Exposure to automation tools such as Airflow.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Willingness to learn and take ownership in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Master ETF trading rules, configurations and controls.
• Support onboarding, eligibility, venue and market-data dependencies.
• Collaborate with traders to develop strategy enhancements and workflows.
• Use market data and order data to evaluate strategy behavior and metrics.
• Create repeatable analyses to identify issues and opportunities.
• Automate data-quality checks and strategy health monitoring.
• Define expected outcomes for testing and deployments.
• Document strategy rules and configuration dependencies.
