Job summary

InfraSource is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. Responsibilities include timely and accurate development of bids for underground utility and renewable energy infrastructure projects across the Midwest and Eastern US.

You will research costs, perform detailed estimates, and prepare proposals for regional opportunities. The role requires travel and collaboration with operations and the Business Development team, with a focus on constructability and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field; 2 years’ experience or equivalent.
• Expert in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Expert organizer with strong documentation skills.
• Proficient in technical writing/correspondence.
• Proficient in reading prints and quantity/material takeoffs.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop bids and proposals timely and accurately for infrastructure projects.
• Review requirements with local operations and stakeholders.
• Perform detailed estimating for underground utility and renewable energy projects.
• Define cost elements: labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, risks.
• Identify risks, contingencies, and constructability solutions.
• Prepare detailed written proposals with clarifications and assumptions.
• Present draft estimates to management for review.
• Submit final bids to customers within timelines.
• Maintain organized estimate documentation.
• Maintain communication with customers to support relationships.
• Collaborate with Business Development on pursuits.
• Understand project scope, construction methods, timelines, and expectations.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and record responses.
• Conduct site visits to evaluate conditions.
• Provide project documentation to field ops and staff.
• Participate in contract preplanning meetings.
• Assist in preparing project deliverables.
• Support change orders and negotiate resolutions with customers.
