Southern California infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Estimator to lead its estimating function for utility infrastructure projects. You will own the numbers behind competitive bids and guide the estimating team from bid through hand-off with operations.

You will perform quantity take-offs, build bid schedules, and collaborate with operations to ensure accurate, defensible estimates and seamless project hand-off.

Qualificações

• 8+ years in estimating with growing responsibility.
• Experience in utility infrastructure or heavy civil projects.
• Proficient with B2W, Accubid, HCSS and scheduling software.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and mentor the estimating team.
• Turn client RFPs and scopes of work into defensible cost estimates.
• Run quantity take-offs and build bid schedules from plans and specifications.
• Join pre-bid meetings, bid strategy sessions and site walks.
• Define subcontractor and supplier packages and price them competitively.
• Assemble bid packages and carry them through internal approvals.
• Compare actual costs to budget and feed learnings into the next bid.
• Support project managers through hand-off, resource planning and change orders.

Overview

An established Southern California infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Estimator to lead its estimating function for utility infrastructure projects. This role owns the numbers behind competitive bids, leading the estimating team while staying hands-on with estimates, and working closely with operations from bid through project hand-off.

What you'll do

• Lead and mentor the estimating team
• Turn client RFPs and scopes of work into complete, defensible cost estimates
• Run quantity take-offs and build bid schedules from plans and specifications
• Join pre-bid meetings, bid strategy sessions and site walks
• Define subcontractor and supplier packages and pressure-test their pricing
• Assemble bid packages and carry them through internal approval
• Compare actual costs to budget and feed what you learn into the next bid
• Support project managers through hand-off, resource planning and change orders

Required qualifications

• 8+ years in estimating with growing responsibility
• Utility infrastructure or heavy civil estimating experience
• Commercial estimating software: B2W, Accubid, HCSS or similar
• Strong Excel; MS Project or P6 scheduling
• Able to pull a clean scope from plans, specs and bid documents

Preferred qualifications

• Degree in engineering, construction management or finance preferred; equivalent experience considered
