Job summary

LeoForce is seeking an Estimator for underground wet utility projects in the Phoenix area. The ideal candidate has mid-level experience with water, sewer and storm utilities and a demonstrated ability to produce accurate take-offs and proposals.

Responsibilities include generating quantity estimates, take-offs per plans, and vendor quote summaries, using Planswift and HCSS Heavy Bid. A strong focus on organization and communication is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction experience in underground utilities (water, sewer, storm) on private or public projects.
• Thorough knowledge of estimating processes and MAG specifications/standards.
• Excellent organizational and detail-oriented approach; strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work under stress and develop/maintain effective working relationships.
• Experience preparing complex proposals with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with Planswift, HCSS Heavy Bid, Microsoft Project, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity estimates for underground utility projects (water, sewer, storm).
• Complete take-offs from plans and specifications.

• Request, compare and summarize vendor quotes.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of 5 years of construction experience in Underground Utilities-water, sewer and storm on private or public projects
• Must have thorough knowledge of the estimating process
• Must have knowledge in MAG Standard Specifications and Standard Details, as well as local supplements to MAG Specifications
• Excellent organization skills
• Detail oriented
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
• Must be able to work under stressful situations
• Must be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to prepare complex proposals with minimal supervision
• Experience using various computer systems with preferences in HCSS Heavy Bid, Planswift, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel

Responsibilities

• The Estimator works closely with the Chief Estimator and is primarily responsible for performing quantity estimates as it relates to underground utility - water, sewer, and storm
• Completes take off per plans and specifications
• Creates accurate take offs from drawings using Planswift
• Requests, compares and summarizes quotes from vendors
• Estimates production and crew sizes using HCSS Heavy Bid
