Job summary

Jobot, a well-established underground utility contractor in the Phoenix area, is seeking an underground estimator for a full-time role. The position offers a salary between $90,000 and $120,000 per year, with a competitive compensation package and an annual bonus program.

Health insurance is provided as part of the benefits. The successful candidate will have at least five years of construction experience in underground utilities, strong estimating skills, and proficiency with industry tools

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction experience in underground utilities (water, sewer, storm).
• Thorough knowledge of the estimating process.
• Knowledge of MAG Standard Specifications and local MAG supplements.
• Excellent organization skills.
• Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work under stressful situations.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to prepare complex proposals with minimal supervision.
• Experience using Planswift, HCSS Heavy Bid, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Estimate quantities for underground utility projects (water, sewer, and storm).
• Complete take offs per plans and specifications.
• Create accurate take offs from drawings using Planswift.
• Request, compare and summarize quotes from vendors.
• Estimate production and crew sizes using HCSS Heavy Bid.

Job Details

Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of 5 years of construction experience in Underground Utilities-water, sewer and storm on private or public projects
• Must have thorough knowledge of the estimating process
• Must have knowledge in MAG Standard Specifications and Standard Details, as well as local supplements to MAG Specifications
• Excellent organization skills
• Detail oriented
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
• Must be able to work under stressful situations
• Must be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to prepare complex proposals with minimal supervision
• Experience using various computer systems with preferences in HCSS Heavy Bid, Planswift, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel

Responsibilities

• The Estimator works closely with the Chief Estimator and is primarily responsible for performing quantity estimates as it relates to underground utility - water, sewer, and storm
• Completes take off per plans and specifications
