Job summary

Steele Solutions is seeking an Estimator in Tiffin, Ohio to support customers with cost-effective, CAD-driven estimates for steel platforms and related equipment. You will work with Sales, Engineering, and Project Management to convert concepts into quotations and BOMs, ensuring competitive pricing and on-time delivery.

The role emphasizes interpreting drawings, calculating materials and labor, and collaborating across teams to optimize costs. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Ability to read CAD 2D and 3D models
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word)
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications, blueprints, drawings, and project requirements
• Develop accurate cost estimates and quotations for steel platforms and other solutions
• Determine material, labor, and manufacturing requirements
• Generate bills of materials and identify cost drivers
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Project Management
• Create customized solutions using standard SSI products and components
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve processes
• Assist with product improvements based on feedback
