Job summary

RachelContracting is seeking a qualified Estimator/Project Manager to lead heavy civil scopes for renewable energy projects in the Midwest/Central US. The role combines estimating with project management and cost control.

You will mentor junior staff, coordinate client communications, manage takeoffs, and monitor billings and collections while supporting interns. Competitive salary and benefits are provided, with opportunities to grow within the company.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of civil or construction-related experience required; college degree preferred but not required.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead teams effectively in challenging environments.
• Positive, solutions-oriented attitude with commitment to collaboration.
• Willing to travel occasionally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Estimating and project management of the heavy civil scopes for renewable energy projects.
• Navigate cost accounting for ongoing projects including daily/weekly cost verifications, change orders, and invoicing.
• Perform all necessary project communications with clients, field staff, offices, support staff and management.
• Maintain necessary estimating and project files.
• Assist with mentoring junior estimator/project managers and seasonal interns.
• Training and assisting with coordination of interns performing takeoffs and other miscellaneous tasks.
• Prepare take-offs for civil construction projects.
• Manage and monitor project billings and collections; attend project meetings and represent Rachel Contracting with clients.
• Continuously market existing clients and assist with efforts to generate/develop new client relationships.

ResponsibilitiesandDuties

• • Estimatingandprojectmanagementoftheheavycivilscopesforrenewableenergyprojects(solar,wind,batterystoragefacilities,etc.).
  • Navigatesandunderstandscostaccountingforongoingprojectsincludingdaily/weeklycostverifications,review/confirmationofdailylogs,changeorders,monthlyprojectcostprojections,approvingprojectinvoicing,etc.
  • Performallnecessaryprojectcommunicationswithclients,fieldstaff,officesupportstaffandmanagement.
  • Maintainnecessaryestimatingandprojectfiles.
  • Assistwithmentoringjuniorestimator/projectmanagersandseasonalinterns.
  • Trainingandassistingwithcoordinationofinternsperformingtakeoffsandothermiscellaneoussupporttasks.
