Job summary

Rachel Contracting is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Renewable Energy Superintendent, with project assignments primarily located throughout the Midwest and Central United States.

You will oversee site civil construction for industrial, solar, and wind energy projects, manage a field crew of 5–25, ensure safety, coordinate with subcontractors, and support procurement and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction.
• Ability to lead teams effectively in challenging environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform site grading and oversee civil construction activities for industrial, solar, and wind energy projects, including road improvements, drainage, dewatering, soil stabilization, foundation excavation and backfill, utilities, and other site improvements.
• Collaborate with subcontractors to plan and execute work, interpret project specifications, and coordinate multiple phases of construction to ensure timely completion.
• Monitor work progress to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and schedules through regular communication with the Project Manager and General Superintendent.
• Manage and lead a field workforce of approximately 5 to 25 team members, including equipment operators and laborers.
• Support the Project Manager in material procurement, scheduling, and project documentation to maintain efficiency.
• Enforce company safety policies and ensure personnel comply with safety standards and project requirements.

ResponsibilitiesandDuties:

• Performsitegradingandoverseecivilconstructionactivitiesforindustrial,solar,andwindenergyprojects,includingroadimprovementsandmaintenance,drainagesystems,dewatering,soilstabilization,foundationexcavationandbackfill,utilities,andothernecessarysiteimprovements.
• Collaboratewithsubcontractorstoplanandexecutework,interpretprojectspecifications,andcoordinatemultiplephasesofconstructiontoensuretimelyprojectcompletion.
