Job description

Mattson Construction has been setting the standard for quality construction in Minot and all over North Dakota for over a hundred years. Since 1903 and spanning three generations, we’ve operated under the ethic that every project should be accomplished on time and on budget. We are looking for quality full-time employees. The work is year-round.

Salary is up to $100,000 depending on education and experience.

Responsibilities and Requirements:
  1. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and estimating software is necessary.
  2. Analyze and interpret blueprints, specifications, and addendums to ensure codes and regulations are met.
  3. Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc., to determine scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
  4. Review and incorporate historical data from past projects, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc., into unit and man-hour figures.
  5. Solicit vendors/subcontractors for pricing information.
  6. Perform material takeoffs, develop cost estimates, and monitor raw material prices.
  7. Maintain and prepare bid documentation.
  8. Evaluate subcontractor bids for completeness and accuracy.
  9. Prefer candidates with a B.S. or B.A.; others with relevant experience will also be considered.
