Job summary

Ostrenga Excavating Inc., based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, is seeking an Estimator/Project Manager for a full-time, on-site role. You will develop accurate cost estimates and manage projects from bid through completion.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction/excavation project management, scheduling, resource coordination, on-site problem-solving.
• Proficiency with estimating software, Excel, and basic PM tools; knowledge of CM systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of excavation methods, site work practices, and safety regulations; OSHA awareness beneficial.
• Ability to work on-site in varying weather; conduct field visits and engage with operations teams.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in construction management or related field is advantageous.

Role Description The Estimator/Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Green Bay, WI, responsible for developing accurate cost estimates and managing projects from bid through completion. Daily tasks include reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, preparing detailed proposals, and coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers. The Estimator/Project Manager will collaborate with field crews and leadership to plan work, resolve issues, and ensure safety and quality standards are met. This position also requires clear communication with clients, maintaining documentation, and supporting continuous improvement in estimating and project delivery processes.

Our ideal candidate will be able to read and comprehend blueprints, figure quantities for removals/replacements. Solicit quotes for materials, subcontractors, apply costs and submit quotes. Candidate must be able to manage multiple projects. Will be responsible to use best practices to successfully run the workforce, equipment and sub-contractors. Need to develope a positive relationship with the General Contractor or Owner of project. Solid understanding of blueprint reading, earth moving equipment and properties of earth material is needed for this position. Typical projects include schools, manufacturing and retail facilities and industrial projects, such as waste water treatment plants. Ideally the candidate holds a degree in Construction or related field and has experience in earthwork. Salary is based on experience.

• Proficiency with estimating software, Excel, and basic project management tools; familiarity with construction management systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of excavation methods, site work practices, and relevant safety regulations; OSHA awareness or certification is beneficial.
• Ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions, conduct field visits, and engage directly with operations teams.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or a degree in construction management or a related field is an advantage.
