Job summary

Cityhillconstruction is seeking an Estimator/Project Manager to blend estimating with hands-on project management, guiding projects from bid to completion. The role rewards organization and attention to detail, with state-of-the-art estimating and takeoff software guiding your work.

You will communicate with customers, prepare detailed proposals, develop schedules, track budgets, and coordinate vendors and subcontractors to keep jobs on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

Job description

We're looking to add an Estimator/Project Manager to our growing team. This role blends estimating with hands-on project management, giving you the chance to see projects through from bid to completion. Prior experience is highly preferred but not necessary. The ideal candidate has some experience in construction project management, is organized, motivated, detail-oriented and driven. We use state-of-the-art takeoff, estimating, and project management software, so strong computer skills are required. Your experience will determine your starting pay.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate with customers to discuss new or current projects
• Ensure timely completion of all estimates
• Explore documentation to gain a deep understanding of project requirements
• Perform takeoffs from site plans
• Evaluate project spec book and other project documents
• Procure and evaluate vendor and sub-contractor prices
• Prepare detailed proposals for each job based on information provided
• Calculate, analyze, and adjust estimates

Project Management

• Attend and participate in site walk throughs, pre-construction meetings, and progress meetings
• Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, vendors, and subcontractors once a project moves from estimate to construction
• Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring milestones and completion dates are met
• Cost tracking, procurement of materials and sub-contractors, reviewing contracts and contract documents, submittals, and change orders
• Coordinate field crews, equipment, and material deliveries to keep jobs on schedule and on budget
• Track project budgets against estimates and identify/communicate variances early
• Manage RFIs, submittals, and change order documentation throughout the life of a project
• Ensure job site compliance with safety and quality standards
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with key vendors and subcontractors
