Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Estimator in Honolulu to produce precise quantity take-offs and take charge of basic pricing for projects. You will coordinate with vendors, develop pricing models, and support conceptual estimating under supervision while helping to shape project budgets and schedules.

Travel up to 10% may be required as part of project duties. A high school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related estimating experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.
• Ability to read and comprehend drawings and specifications and identify missing elements during design development.
• Strong multitasking and deadline-driven capabilities.
• Proficiency with PC software and rough/precise estimating tools.

Responsibilities

• Produces accurate quantity and material take-offs from plans, specs, and instructions for estimate preparation.
• Enters quantity take-offs and material unit pricings for projects.
• Develops pricing for basic project elements and coordinates pricing with vendors/subcontractors.
• Supports conceptual estimating and develops basic models for senior review.
• Develops budgets and purchasing plans with minimal oversight.
• Manages document flow during estimate preparation and maintains logs.
