Job summary

CDM Smith in Hawaii is seeking an experienced Estimator to support project estimates by developing quantity take-offs, pricing, and budgets for complex infrastructure work. You will review plans and specifications, apply a work breakdown structure, and coordinate with vendors to develop pricing for basic project elements.

This role requires strong numerical skills, the ability to read drawings, attention to detail, and the capacity to work on multiple bids under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications and identify missing elements during design development.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quantity take-offs from plans and specs.
• Enter quantity take-offs and material unit prices for projects.
• Develop pricing for basic project elements and coordinate with vendors.
• Assist in conceptual estimating and model development.
• Develop budgets and purchasing plans with minimal oversight.
• Coordinate flow of documents during estimate preparation.
• Provide administrative logging of estimates.
• Perform additional duties as required.
