Job summary

Cogentanalytics is seeking a Commercial Plumbing Estimator in the Cleveland, OH area to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for a variety of commercial projects, including new construction, renovations, and tenant improvements.

You will review plans, analyze contracts, and coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure comprehensive, compliant estimates and timely bids. This role requires strong communication, precision, and knowledge of local codes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a plumbing estimator, preferably in a commercial setting.
  • In‑depth knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, codes, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in Fast Est estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and contracts to develop accurate plumbing estimates.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial plumbing projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain quotes and pricing information.
  • Evaluate site conditions and scope of work to ensure all necessary work is included in the estimate.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of local plumbing codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Present and explain estimates to clients, ensuring clear communication and addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Track and update project budgets throughout the bidding and construction phases.
  • Assist in identifying cost‑saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of estimates, bids, and related documentation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Attending Job Walk Throughs
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, materials, and technology advancements to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
