Job summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure, part of the CRH family, seeks an Estimator to join the Fredericksburg, VA team onsite. You will review drawings and documents, complete take-offs, prepare quotes, and collaborate with sales, engineering, and production to deliver accurate proposals.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, safety, and timely delivery of bids, with responsibilities spanning pricing, vendor coordination, and bid development across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience
• Reading schematics and engineering drawings
• 2+ years of construction/bidding experience a plus
• Knowledge of software for proposal drawings
• Commitment to safety
• Regular and timely attendance is required

Responsibilities

• Complete take-offs and quotes for RFQs from outside sales team
• Send quotes to customer before due date with salesperson copied
• Communicate with customer on quantity verification and quote structure
• Collaborate with sales on proposal strategy and design changes
• Work with vendors to prepare bids and write proposals
• Manage bids of varying size and complexity
• Review drawings, specifications, proposals to prepare cost and labor estimates
• Utilize market-based price list provided by sales manager
• Assist in department improvement initiatives and bid-package completion
