## Estimator, InfrastructureApply: San Francisco, CA: San Jose, CA: Alameda, CA: Full time: Posted 30+ Days Ago: JR1000387The Estimator position prepares detailed cost estimates for proposed infrastructure and heavy civil projects involving both competitive bid and negotiated type work. This position performs a variety of estimating duties including quantity take-offs, database input, coordination of bid documents for distribution to Subcontractors, and research of product data and suppliers. Extensive knowledge of constructions costs and the ability to support the overall activities of the Preconstruction team are imperative.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*** Reviews construction documents for both negotiated and bid projects; determines both the nature and scope of the work to be performed.* Interfaces with a wide variety of professional people including architects, owner representatives, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.* Works with the estimating staff to prepare detailed quantity take-offs for assigned segments of the project and apply unit costs. Using an approved list of contractors, invites subcontractors to submit pricing. Create bid packages that are complete in scope and easy to follow.* Compiles cost data received for subcontractors for Webcor Estimators. Examines data as it is being received for both accuracy and sufficiency before completing the final estimate.* Assists in maintaining and updating the master subcontractor list for all trades.* May review the work of other staff members for accuracy; offers suggestions as needed before bid data is consolidated.**TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED*** Working knowledge of the following software: WinEst, OST, Revit, HCSS, Excel* Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.* Demonstrate a desire to continue to learn and grow, and a desire for continuous improvement.* Adept in quickly learning new software, related to drafting, modeling, estimating and scheduling* Working knowledge of construction drawings, costs and principals* Understanding of Labor, Equipment, and Material rates.* Analytical, highly versatile, extremely organized, have a keen attention to detail* Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment**BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED*** Ability to effectively lead, manage and mentor staff.* Clearly defines goals, understands audiences, manages productive meetings, manages and builds team morale* Advanced communication skills. The repetitive motion using hands with constant keyboarding and physical use of vision to read computer monitors and paper documents. Regularly required to use hands to operate standard office equipment (personal computer, photocopy machine, fax machine). Occasionally required to stoop, kneel and lift up to 15 pounds. The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate to loud.*Range of base pay is $153,000-$168,000. Actual pay is based on individual skill level and experience.*
