Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) invites applications for an Estimator II in San Jose, CA. You will work with the Preconstruction team, Project Managers, and Purchasing to develop utility-scale solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System estimates, covering self-perform and subcontracted scopes.

You will review drawings, perform quantity take-offs, prepare RFQs, and evaluate subcontractor pricing while coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and competitive proposals.

Qualifications

• Education and work experience aligned with solar PV and EPC estimating.
• Bachelor's in Engineering or Construction Management preferred; high school diploma acceptable with experience.
• Three years estimating experience in solar PV and managing subcontracts preferred; EPC experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Perform all levels and types of estimating, planning, scheduling and cost engineering activities.
• Accurately perform material quantity take-offs for renewable energy projects.
• Manage vendor relationships and evaluate pricing; prepare RFQs and reviews.
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and material vendors; manage subcontractor database.
