Job summary

VFP, Inc. is seeking an experienced estimator to prepare bids and written proposals for customer specifications. The role involves estimating costs, determining materials and labor, and coordinating with Purchasing and HR on costs to ensure accurate, compliant submissions.

The position requires 1-5 years of estimating experience, knowledge of construction or electrical work, and a professional approach with strong written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bids and written proposals based on customer specifications and input from Business Development Managers.
• Estimate costs and prepare detailed proposals and compliance matrices.
• Determine material quantities and labor for total job cost.
• Obtain quotations from suppliers and/or subcontractors; work with Purchasing on material costs.
• Assist Business Development Managers with follow-up on quotations.
• Confirm customer specs and purchase orders are acknowledged in proposals.
• Support Lead Estimator as needed.
