Job summary

Sincere in Houston is seeking an Estimator I to estimate assigned projects from takeoff through final bid proposal creation.

As an entry-level estimator, you'll work with your team to produce accurate, competitive bids and coordinate with subcontractors to ensure bids are turned in on time.

You will verify quantities, liaise with architects, and hand off awarded work to Project Management for successful turnover.

Qualifications

• 1 - 3 years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Ability to independently produce accurate, competitive bids.
• Strong understanding of plans, specs, and scopes across trades.
• Experience soliciting, vetting, and leveling subcontractor bids.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and clients.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple bids against deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Verify and/or compile takeoffs and produce accurate estimates using provided company software.
• Follow up with subcontractors to ensure bids are submitted by the subcontractor bid due date.
• Work with Senior Estimator to vet each subcontractor's bid and conduct bid leveling.
• Send RFIs to architects as needed.
• Compile all information in company-provided project management software and produce a comprehensive project bid for the client.
• Minimize scope gaps.
• Create and maintain a bid tab for each trade on each project.
• Find quality vendors and obtain the best pricing.
• Partner with upper management, Project Managers, and Superintendents to continuously improve estimating processes.

As a entry-level estimator, you'll work hand in hand with your team to produce accurate, competitive bids and communicate with subcontractors to ensure bids are turned in on time.

Mission of the Position

Ensure each assigned estimating project is estimated in an accurate and timely manner by communicating with subcontractors throughout the bidding process. Obtain input from the Senior Estimator when qualifying bids to ensure they are competitive and cover all scopes on the plans and specs. Work closely with management during client meetings to present bids and explain Sincere's Scope of Work. Assist the Senior Estimator in ensuring awarded projects are successfully turned over to the Project Management team.
