Job summary

Air Force HVAC in Southeast, FL is seeking an HVAC Estimator to price residential and light commercial jobs, perform on-site assessments, size systems accurately, and craft competitive proposals that protect margins.

You will apply VRF, VAV and commercial HVAC knowledge, coordinate with the GM and field techs, and present recommendations directly to customers. Proficiency with Jobber or HouseCall Pro is preferred, with strong growth opportunities in a rapidly scaling company.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of HVAC estimating experience
• Must have HVAC field service experience (commercial & residential)
• Strong knowledge of VRF, VAV, and commercial HVAC systems
• Proven ability to build estimates that close and protect margin
• Comfortable presenting proposals to customers

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site assessments to evaluate scope, access, and system requirements
• Develop accurate estimates for residential and light commercial systems
• Price jobs using company pricing structures, material costs, and labor and margin targets
• Prepare good, better, best proposal options tailored to customer needs and budget
• Incorporate maintenance agreements, indoor air quality solutions, and financing options into proposals where applicable
• Review plans, specs, and load calculations as needed to size systems correctly
• Coordinate with the GM, dispatch, and field technicians to clarify scope questions during install or service
• Flag scope creep and prepare change orders for approval
• Present proposals directly to customers and drive close rates

Location: Southeast, FL (serving tri-county area - Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties)

We are on track to grow 8x year-over-year at the top line as we expand our technician team, client base, and service offerings. To achieve this ambitious growth, we are seeking a detail-oriented HVAC Estimator to help us price jobs accurately, win business, and protect margin as we scale.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Proposal Development

• Conduct on-site assessments to evaluate scope, access, and system requirements for installs, replacements, and repairs
• Develop accurate, detailed estimates across residential and light commercial systems, including VRF, VAV, rooftop units, and commercial split systems
• Price jobs using company pricing structures, material costs, and labor and margin targets
• Prepare "good, better, best" proposal options tailored to customer needs and budget
• Incorporate maintenance agreements, indoor air quality solutions, and financing options into proposals where applicable

Technical Scope & Field Knowledge

• Apply hands-on field service background to accurately identify scope, code/permitting considerations, and installation challenges before they surface on the job
• Review plans, specs, and load calculations as needed to size systems correctly
• Coordinate with the GM, dispatch, and field technicians to clarify scope questions during install or service
• Flag scope creep and prepare change orders for approval

Sales & Customer-Facing Performance

• Present proposals directly to customers, explaining recommendations in clear, honest terms
• Build trust and rapport with customers to drive strong close rates and referrals
• Follow up on outstanding proposals to move them to close

Systems & Reporting

• Maintain accurate, complete estimate records, job notes, and photos in HouseCall Pro
• Track conversion rates, average ticket, and estimate turnaround time
• Communicate estimate status and job scope clearly to the GM and field team

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 3-5 years of HVAC estimating experience (more preferred)
• MUST have HVAC field service experience, both commercial and residential
• Strong knowledge of VRF, VAV, and commercial HVAC systems in addition to residential
• Proven ability to build estimates that close and protect margin
• Proficient in Jobber and/or HouseCall Pro
• Comfortable presenting proposals directly to customers

Highly Preferred

• Commercial installation/service background (VRF, VAV, rooftop units)
• Track record of strong close rates as an estimator or in a field sales capacity
