Job summary

Kimmel & Associates represents a 100% employee-owned general and heavy civil contractor seeking an experienced Construction Estimator in the Baltimore MD market. You will develop bids for heavy civil and underground utility projects, analyze labor and material needs, and coordinate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.

The role requires 2–3 years of estimating experience, a civil engineering or constructions management degree, strong attention

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent estimating experience.
• 2–3 years of full-time estimating experience in heavy civil and underground utilities.
• Experience with heavy civil infrastructure and underground utility projects.
• Proficient with MS Office; proven HCSS Heavy Bid experience.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and bid documents to determine estimating requirements.
• Develop detailed cost estimates for heavy civil and underground utilities.
• Calculate labor, equipment, materials, and production costs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to set schedules, budgets, and risks.
• Solicit pricing from suppliers/subcontractors and negotiate costs.
• Prepare bid packages and update estimates for bid deadlines.
• Lead turnover with superintendent and project team.
