Job summary

gpac is seeking an Estimator to prepare bids and manage preconstruction for heavy highway and bridge projects. You will work with Project Managers to develop cost estimates, analyze plans, and evaluate subcontractor quotes.

Responsibilities include detailed estimates for heavy highway, bridge, and civil projects; quantity takeoffs; bid preparation; risk assessment; and coordination with field teams. A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field and 5+ years estimating experience are

Strong ability to read plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
5+ years estimating experience in heavy civil, highway, or bridge projects preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed estimates for heavy highway, bridge, and civil construction projects.
Perform quantity takeoffs and review plans and specifications for constructability.
Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
Prepare bids, proposals, and value-engineering options.
Assist in risk assessment and recommend cost-saving strategies.
Coordinate with Project Managers and field teams to confirm scope and constructability.
