Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Estimator to join our team in the United States. You will prepare detailed estimates and bids for civil projects, perform quantity takeoffs, and solicit subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive bids.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with takeoffs, bidding, cost analysis, and project pricing, plus the ability to coordinate with project teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of civil construction estimating experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and bids for civil construction projects from conceptual design through final bid.
• Review project plans, specifications, bid documents, and scopes of work.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and material calculations.
• Develop labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and vendor pricing.
• Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, and potential cost impacts.
• Prepare competitive and profitable bid proposals.
• Analyze historical project costs and production data to improve estimating accuracy.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors during the estimating process.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs.
• Maintain organized estimating files, bid documentation, and cost databases.
• Assist with value engineering and alternative construction approaches.
• Support project handoff from estimating to operations.
• Stay current on material costs, labor rates, market conditions, and construction trends.
