Job summary

Archstone Builders LLC in New York City is seeking an Estimator to produce takeoffs, pricing and trade packages on ground-up projects across the NYC metro area, working with our senior estimating team from concept through buyout. This hands-on role stays on projects through construction and close-out, with responsibility for subcontractor management, bid leveling and change order review.

Salary ranges from $140,000 to $175,000 annually, plus benefits; NYC experience and open-book budgeting are

Qualifications

3–6 years of estimating or preconstruction experience with a general contractor, construction manager or specialty subcontractor.
New York City construction experience, ideally on ground-up work.
Confident quantity takeoff ability across multiple trades.
Willingness to own your packages through construction and close-out, not just through buyout.
Resourcefulness on the phone to price trades not yet covered.

Responsibilities

Analyze drawings, specs, and geotechnical reports to produce quantity takeoffs.
Apply unit pricing to material, labor and equipment to value the work.
Support budgets from conceptual through CD with open-book conversion to a stipulated sum.
Manage subcontractor bids and buyout, chasing coverage and pricing.
Carry projects through construction and close-out, handling changes and RFIs.
