Job summary

Flow Control Group is seeking a highly analytical Estimator to lead our front-end bidding across the FCG ecosystem. You will translate complex customer requirements into precise, competitive proposals, working with brands, engineering, and vendors to size equipment, develop cost estimates, and deliver winning bids.

You will collaborate with Project Managers, Inside Sales, and Strategic Account Managers to ensure accurate pricing, margins, and timely proposal delivery across diverse markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in technical estimating, application engineering, or inside sales in the industrial flow control sector.
• Strong knowledge of flow control tech, equipment, and applications; familiarity with sizing software.
• Ability to read and interpret bid packages, drawings, P&IDs, and standards (API/ASME/ANSI/ISA).

Responsibilities

• Maintain deep knowledge of all brands, products, and technology groups to identify cross-brand solutions.
• Coordinate with internal brand units and external partners for pricing and lead times.
• Align bid strategies with Inside Sales, Project Managers, and Strategic Account Managers.
• Lead hand-off meetings to transfer won bids to Project Management with clear cost scopes.
• Review customer drawings, datasheets, P&IDs, and specs to ensure compliance.
• Size and select flow control technologies to meet application parameters.
• Develop detailed cost estimates including equipment, engineering, labor, testing, packaging, and freight.
• Draft technical and commercial proposals with clear scope and terms.
• Apply pricing techniques to protect margins while staying competitive.
• Identify risks in RFQs and incorporate contingencies into proposals.
