Job summary

Flow Control Group is seeking a highly analytical Estimator to join our team. You will translate complex customer requirements into accurate, competitive technical proposals while coordinating with brand leadership, engineering, and vendors across our ecosystem.

You will manage front-end bidding for RFQs, size and select equipment, and build robust cost estimates to protect margins and satisfy customers. This role offers exposure to multiple brands and engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in technical estimating, application engineering, or inside sales within flow control or related industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of flow control technologies, equipment, and applications; ability to read engineering bid packages.
• Excellent collaboration with cross-functional teams and external vendors under tight deadlines.
• Highly organized with zero-error cost calculations and technical compliance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all brands and technology groups within Flow Control Group.
• Evaluate RFQ packages, review specifications, and align on bidding strategies.
• Size and select equipment, and build robust commercial bids.
• Develop detailed cost estimates covering equipment, engineering, labor, testing, packaging, and freight.
• Draft comprehensive technical proposals outlining scope, deviations, and terms.
• Protect margins through strategic pricing and market competitiveness.
• Coordinate hand-off of won bids to project management with clear scope and costs.
• Identify risks in RFQs and incorporate contingency costs.
• Collaborate daily with Inside Sales, Project Managers, and Strategic Account Managers.
